I’ve had different opportunities in my life, but I chose to follow my passion. My passion for music, dance and entertainment.
Today… 10 years ago, I was at River Club Bluebell, preparing my very first event: Lustig – zoete en tropische beats.
Today… 9 years ago, I was at White Beach, preparing the first dance Festival in Suriname, the 1st milestone of my dream: Lustig Festival 1 year anniversary – It’s all about the music.
Today… 8 years ago, I was at White Beach, running around on bare feet in the burning sun to prepare for the celebration of the 2nd anniversary : Lustig Festival – A global gathering of dance music.
Today… 7 years ago, I was at White Beach. My eyes were burning because I hadn’t slept in 48 hours, just to finish the stages and décor for the celebration of the 3rd anniversary: Lustig Festival – A Caribbean fusion of fantasies.
Today… 6 years ago, I was at White Beach, screaming and scolding to get everything done on time for the celebration of the 4th anniversary: Lustig Festival – A trip through reality, to inspire, to educate, to activate, to celebrate.
Today… 5 years ago, I reached another milestone. I was at White Beach, doing the entire production of the Festival with my own company, Zajofa N.V. ,to celebrate the 5th anniversary: Lustig Festival – Spoil your senses.
Today… 4 years ago, I teamed up with international production companies to build all the stages by international standards to celebrate the 6th anniversary :Lustig Festival, The six elements.
Today… 3 years ago, I was at White Beach. With my dream, I had established oneness with my visitors despite their background. We celebrated this with the 7th anniversary : Lustig Festival : Embrace culture through music.
Today… 2 years ago I was at White Beach. Sleep deprivation was no longer an issue, because my team had grown stronger. Together we were preparing for the 8th anniversary: Lustig Festival – Lustig & you, till infinity and beyond.
Today… 1 year ago I was at Club Zenaida. Our Festival wasn’t due for another month, but how could I let my followers down? I gave them a pre-event with Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano to prepare them for what was coming with the celebration of our 9th anniversary: Lustig Festival: Illuminate yourself.
Today I want to share this special moment with you,
Today I still follow my passion, with all the ups and downs and with all the struggle, with all the hustle, the sacrifice and with all the lessons learned. I want to thank everyone who stood beside, behind, above, in front and beneath me. I want to thank everyone who was there for me. You know who you are. Without you I was not able to share this passion!
Today I think of all the 98 events I was part of all these years. Can you imagine that? Do what you love and love what you do, do it with passion, or not at all. Never give up, no matter how difficult the circumstances are. Chase your dreams, improvise, be creative. Celebrate life, Be safe.
Today it is all about you and me, because We Are Lustig!
